Green Streets

The combination of economic changes, an aging infrastructure and climate change necessitates upgrades to Chicopeeā€™s once-thriving industrial center. The designs proposed in this book involve street improvements that filter pollutants and reduce the amount of stormwater entering the grey infrastructure system as a means to reduce the likelihood of combined sewage overflows into the nearby Chicopee and Connecticut Rivers.

Coastal Resilience

A community on the Maine coast must adapt to a changing climate and mitigate the effects of stormwater runoff and erosion. In addition to a comprehensive site analysis, this document includes a planting plan, cost estimates, suggestions for managing stormwater and erosion and information on the ecology of the site for residents.

Urban Design

The South Deerfield common is a 7,000-square-foot triangular green space at the center of an intersection in the heart of a struggling commercial district. I created three conceptual designs that seek to re-conceive and activate the common to once again be the heart of this New England community.
